You need to check you hardware carefully, especially the IDE cable and jumper settings. You should not need any special drivers. This is an ATAPI compliant IDE optical drive and the driver for that is part of the operating system.

It was working to install Vista... and worked perfectly up till the time of installation so I dont see how a cable or setting was set wrong... didnt even open the case.

Well, there is no separate driver for it. It is a standard IDE optical drive. If it doesn't work, then maybe it's time to buy a replacement.

Same problem here. So those of us that have Sony dvd drives should just buy new ones? I don't think so. If anybody esle has a solution please let me know.

I cannot find drivers for the above drive, hence it is not working. Has anyone found a work around?

Has anyone gotten the above to work in vista? If so any help would be appreciated.
